National Timber Group has launched a new division that will support the UK’s housebuilding and construction industries.
The new brand, National Timber Systems, will supply trussed rafters, gable and party spandrels, engineered joists, floor and roof cassettes, as well as the NYTROOF, an innovative rapid fit ‘room in the roof’ system. It will combine the design, manufacturing, and logistic capabilities of National Timber Group’s existing portfolio, which have been previously provided through Arnold Laver and NYTimber, to create what is billed as “one high-quality national offering.”
National Timber Systems has a 200-strong workforce, four manufacturing and distribution centres, 20 expert designers, and is predicting turnover of more than £27m in 2021.
Nick Kershaw has been appointed as Managing Director. Nick previously led NYTimber and founded its engineered wood products division in 2010, successfully diversifying the business and creating a new £10m revenue stream.
Nick also oversaw the development of the NYTROOF, a rapid fit ‘room in the roof system’ now used by national housebuilders up and down the country. He said: “I’m really excited about the new division and what we will be able to offer our customers in the future. By combining the engineered timber capabilities of NYTimber and Arnold Laver, we have been able to create a much stronger customer proposition.
“National Timber Systems has a wide geographical presence and a comprehensive infrastructure system, which will benefit existing customers, allowing us to expand into other regions, and also work with new businesses.”
Nick has also recruited engineered timber specialists, Richard Jarvis and Julian Elsbury. The pair have worked in the industry for more than 30 years to add further significant experience to team.
