A vote among the principals and owners of leading independent builders’ merchants, carried out by National Buying Group (NBG), shows strong support for the United Kingdom to remain as a member of the European Union.
The secret ballot, which took place at the NBG Partners’ Event last month, showed that 59% of the votes cast were in favour of the UK staying in the EU, with 41% in favour of a Brexit. This result is in line with all major UK business organisation and trade association surveys, which show a majority of business leaders surveyed in favour the UK remaining in the EU.
The Partner’s event is a great opportunity for NBG owners and principles to step back from their day to day challenges, to share ideas and best practice in a relaxed business environment.
NBG now has 82 partner merchants who collectively trade from nearly 300 outlets across the UK.
