National Buying Group (NBG) has announced it has signed up Lincolnshire based, Builders’ Merchant Company as a merchant Partner.
The latest recruit is a general builders’ merchant with three branches in Scunthorpe, Hull and Rotherham. The company was set up in the 1930s and has ambitious plans to expand to five branches in the next five years.
Builders Merchants’ Company MD, Duncan Thomson, hopes that joining NBG will help achieve the business’ expansion plans.
He said: “Joining NBG will help us take the business to another level and it feels like NBG is the natural progression for our company. As well as the deals, I’m really looking forward to being able to share information, best practice and ideas with other builders’ merchants: it’s good to talk!”
Nick Oates, NBG MD, added: “We are delighted to welcome Builders Merchants’ Company to NBG. We only accept applications from financially stable, well-managed, independently-owned merchants and the company matches this profile perfectly. I know that the Builders Merchants’ Company has a strong and strategic growth plan and I agree with Duncan that joining NBG will make a significant contribution to that growth.”
