National Buying Group (NBG) has added three new Partners to its growing community of independent merchants. NBG’s existing Partners will be joined by Sovini Trade Supplies Ltd, Buildland Ltd and Towy Works Ltd.
Sovini Trade Supplies (STS) is a North West-based builders merchant with years of experience in supplying a range of products to repairs and maintenance and construction companies across the UK. Having recently opened a 2.4-acre flagship store and distribution centre in Bootle, Merseyside, on top of three existing regional branches, STS is aiming to build on its extensive product and service offering.
Also joining the group is Buildland, a family-owned builders merchant which has been operating from a base in Redditch, Worcestershire since 2002 and has since added an additional Coventry branch. As one of the UK’s leading suppliers in building and landscaping materials for the trade, Buildland takes great pride in its focus on sustainability and eco-friendly solutions for the construction industry.
Towy Works will also be joining NBG. Towy is a specialist builders merchant based in Carmarthen and supplies a wide range of products across South Wales, from its two-floor showroom and builders yard. Since 1795, Towy has been priding itself on its extensive range and fantastic customer service, coining the phrase ‘If you can’t get it at Towy, you can’t get it’.
Formed in January 2003, NBG is a UK-wide partnership of independent merchants dedicated to providing great deals and new business opportunities through the power of collective buying, while overcoming industry challenges and building lasting relationships. The three new Partners will benefit from NBG deals as well as the support network and opportunity to share best practice with fellow Partners.
Alan Evans, Regional Operations Manager at STS, said: “Joining NBG will support us in achieving our goals as a builders merchant, but also as a socially responsible company.
“Our group structure enables us to reinvest our profits into our communities and with the support of NBG, we will be able to increase our profitability. Having this opportunity will hopefully enable us to invest in social housing projects and the Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives we are passionate about.”
Satty Jutla, Director at Buildland said: “It feels amazing to join NBG and we are incredibly excited to start meeting our fellow Partners and Suppliers. The help we can gain from NBG is great, through having access to offers and promotions we will be able to offer our customers even better prices than before. It is also reassuring to know we can share best practice with everyone at the NBG family, it is a very exciting time for our business.”
Malcolm Griffiths, Manager at Towy Works said: “Joining the NBG family is a great opportunity for Towy Works and all of us that work at our base in Carmarthen. We are looking forward to benefitting from being an NBG Partner and making the most of great deals to in turn benefit our customers.”
Managing Director at NBG, Nick Oates, said: “We are so proud that despite the challenges of the last year, NBG is continuing to grow and we’re able to welcome another three Partners. One of the best things about NBG is the community spirit, which we saw throughout 2020 and have seen continue this year. To see our community get even bigger is really exciting and I’m sure our existing Partners and Suppliers will join me in welcoming Buildland, Sovini and Towy into the fold!”
