Tuffboxes has launched a new ‘Micro’ sized model to accommodate the increasing demand for portable on-the-go security.
Alongside the trademark blue and black design, this product launch has seen the Oldham-based company produce a Limited Edition pink version aimed at Women in Construction and Manufacturing, as well as supporting Cancer Research UK with a £2 donation of every pink sale donated to the charity.
The Micro Tuffbox boasts the same level of security and detail as its ‘big brothers’, with a heavy duty continuous hinge that resists forced entry, fully sealed construction and a 70mm stainless steel anti-drill disc lock. The Micro model is 548 x 398 x 300mm in size and manufactured from 1.5mm sheet steel and 3mm armour for areas more susceptible to attack making it a great alternative to the traditional, easily stolen, plastic toolboxes.
This new smaller design is aimed at on-the-go security where space (and weight) maybe an issue. The petite size is perfect for protecting valuable tools of your trade, no matter your location. At 16kgs unladen it won’t weigh down the back of your pick-up truck, estate car or works van either.
Tuffboxes was surprised by the lack of products aimed at the female audience, and learnt the manufacturing industry was made up of 25% ladies and 11% within the construction industry. With this information, and keen to support women in manufacturing, the team at Tuffboxes decided to introduce a limited edition pink finish alongside the new standard Mirco blue.
Emma Gilligan, Managing Director of Tuffboxes, said “Every day we’re speaking to women across the country, from female Project Managers to self-employed tradeswomen. We’re all surrounded by the typical male stereotype coloured products including our very own range of blue Tuffboxes, so we thought it’s about time to inject a little pink into the marketplace.”
Emma continued “With the launch of our new Tuffbox Micro, we thought it was fitting to powder coat our pint-sized security Tuffbox Pink and Black for a limited production run, as well as standard trademark Blue and Black finish. It may be aimed at a niche market, but an underprovided market nonetheless and we’re proud to support Cancer Research UK along the way.”
The vivid fuchsia pink colour isn’t just for the ladies though, as it jointly fulfils the demand for more ‘Be Safe, Be Seen’ site equipment alongside the traditional high-visibility safety apparel. The highly noticeable colouring makes the pink Tuffbox Micro a welcome addition to many a construction site.
Tuffboxes, and parent company Constant Group, are long supporters of Cancer Research charities, with ongoing monthly support to The Christie charity in Manchester (a complete cancer centre), alongside employees such as Operations Manager, Dave Gilligan, undertaking the Prudential RideLondon in August for ‘Children with Cancer UK’ and Digital Marketing Manager, Alaina Chesney, who recently tackled Cancer Research UK’s Pretty Muddy Race earlier in July.
The new Micro Tuffbox joins as a staple to the existing range of Tuffboxes, while the pink Micro Tuffbox will only run for a limited production. Tuffboxes can be bought direct from the manufacturer at www.tuffboxes.co.uk and start at £100 direct.
