New Milton Sand and Ballast has opened its “new and improved” builders’ merchant branch in New Milton.
One of two builders’ merchant depots operated by the family owned-company, the renovated branch will provide expanded facilities with a larger indoor warehouse and hardstanding yard in addition to improved customer parking, a separate entrance and a much wider product range.
Across the opening week – the site officially reopened on 5th September – a host of promotions and discounts were running, giving local tradespeople the opportunity to save on a wide range of products, from building equipment to garden supplies. Activities on the opening day itself included demos and giveaways from suppliers including Saige, Mannok, Long Rake Spar and many more.
The renovated branch marks part of NMSB’s continued investment into the local area. The independent business, which also has a builders’ merchant in Wallisdown, has over 86 years’ experience in supplying aggregates, concrete, building materials and waste services across Dorset and Hampshire. The company additionally operates three quarries, five depots, one recycling centre and four concrete plants, supporting thousands of customers across the south of England.
MD Rob Flower said: “The recent investment into our Caird Avenue site has been critical in taking this facility to the next level. Once a quarry in the 1940s providing most of the material required to build New Milton, the site has gone through many changes. The site is no longer a quarry but remains a vital resource for local tradespeople to pick up essential building materials. These most recent improvements have included new site drainage, new services, refurbishment to the existing lorry park, a new hard standing access road, and an improved builders’ merchant.
“I would like to thank all our customers for their continued support whilst we have changed access points and moved stocked around and I hope to welcome you back with an improved experience with more products now available, especially at our new merchant branch.”
NMSB has also welcomed Richard Froggett, as the Group’s Merchant Manager. He said: “I hope to build on the great success the team have already achieved across both branches, continuing to offer fair prices but improving the services and experience the customer receives.
“NMSB is unique in that we are a local manufacturer, we supply everything from aggregate which we quarry, concrete which we produce and all other building materials that you might need, from the start to finish of a project. I am really excited with the new improvements that have been made at New Milton and look forward to meeting all our customers, as well as welcoming many new ones too.”
