NMBS has announced that it will not be holding its Annual Dinner Dance this year, but has pledged the event will now return in 2022.
In a communication to members and potential guests, NMBS Managing Director Chris Hayward said: “As you are aware the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has had a huge impact on the hospitality/event industry. Our Annual Dinner Dance at the Grosvenor House in London is classed as one of the best social events in the industry where 1200 guests come together to enjoy an evening of dancing, live entertainment, and a fabulous three course meal.
“Despite our best efforts to plan and organise for the event, we are not – for very understandable reasons – able to commit to hold the event with the usual pre-dinner drinks reception and live entertainment and dancing. After careful consideration of all possible options, we have taken the decision to cancel the NMBS 2021 Dinner Dance due to take place at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London on Saturday 30th October.”
Chris continued: “Clearly, we are very disappointed to have to cancel our event again this year, however we believe that under the circumstances this represented the best way forward. Our Dinner Dance in 2022 will be on the 22nd October, when we will come back bigger and better than ever before and hopefully by then life is closer to normal.”
