It is with great sadness to announce that David Caulfield, BA’s Sales & Marketing Director, has sadly passed away peacefully, surrounded by family after a short illness.
David was described as a passionate advocate for life, a family man, naturally talented with great business vision and was highly respected in the KBB industry.
His contribution and passion for BA over 12 years cannot be underestimated locally, nationally and internationally, meeting people from many walks of life during his illustrious career. Previous to BA, David worked with Croydex Ltd as their National Sales Manager for 5 years.
BA has said that for those who met David personally, that he was an unbelievable force with a vivid personality to match. Since his diagnosis of a brain tumour 91 days ago, David’s steely determination to win his fight against cancer had many avid online followers eagerly awaiting his daily blog that gave a powerful insight on his emotional journey.
Brian & Kieran McCracken, BA’s Founders, both commented: “Through David’s good days and bad days of battling cancer, his overriding wish was for us all to take stock of life, get the right work balance and spend time enjoying it to the fullest. David was a great contributor and inspiration, a mentor, a work colleague, a comedian, a leader and most of all a good friend to us all at BA and will be sorely missed. He lives on in the memory of those who had the privilege of working closely with him and his family that loved him.”
A quote taken from one of David’s inspirational daily blogs in early January 2019 said: “Work can bring many challenges but also many new opportunities. Remember it’s the choices that will carry you through your working year. You’ve done it many times before and you don’t have to reinvent the wheel but change the way you think of the opportunities you have and look at them in a positive light. To accomplish great things you must not only act but you must dream, you must plan and most importantly you must also believe.”
Gareth Boyle, Marketing Manager, added: “David always had a clear understanding of where he was going and the path he had to take while battling his illness courageously. He was focused and determined so much so that his wish was to raise funds for Brain Tumour Research, to try and ‘give back’ to the amazing health professionals who work tirelessly to combat this illness. Over £4,000 has been raised already, a stunning achievement. But David wanted to reach £5,480 so that we could help fund 2 full days of research. I hope that this target can not only be achieved but exceeded so that as much money as possible is raised to help with research.”
