The Parker Building Supplies team got together to celebrate another good year at the firm’s annual conference recently.
Around 300 employees, plus others who work closely with the independent timber and heavyside builders’ merchants, attended the event at the East Sussex National in Uckfield.
The theme of the conference was ‘Ready or not’ and Parker Building Supplies’ Financial and Commercial Director, Stewart Pierce, led the event. He presented on how the firm performed in 2016, the current status of the industry and offered staff the opportunity to ask him questions on any work-related matters.
Stewart said: “We are one of the fastest evolving industries so there is constant change, but we embrace this. The conference is a great opportunity for the whole team to get together and find out how we’re doing, if there’s anything we can do better and also consider how builders’ merchanting might look in the future.”
Parker Building Supplies has branches throughout Sussex and Kent and is an official charity partner of the Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT), having raised thousands of pounds for the charity in the last five years. Sian Cooper from TCT was invited to the conference to give a speech about the work they do and thanked everyone who has donated or held a fundraiser for them.
It’s been a busy time for Parker Building Supplies as its head office has recently moved from Uckfield to Polegate after a two year search.
