Permaroof has partnered with New Zealand-based Tilcor Roofing Systems to become a UK stockist of its textured-finished Bond tiles.
Tilcor’s Bond tile, which launched in New Zealand in 1989, can be used on both residential and commercial roofs with either a refurbishment or new-build application. The roof tiles, which come with a 50-year warranty, are 30% quicker to install and 70% lighter than ‘traditional’ roof tiles, as well as suitable for roof pitches as low as 12.5 degrees.
As well as being wind-tested to 100mph, the tiles are low maintenance, non-combustible, and infinitely and 100% recyclable.
Adrian Buttress, Managing Director at Permaroof said: “With an increased focus on helping the wider housing and construction market get back up to speed quickly, it’s of paramount importance that we are proactive and add to the range of products we offer.
“Tilcor’s Bond is a lightweight roofing system that provides exceptional durability and strength – allowing homeowners to improve the look and value of their house in a matter of days. The tile profiles and roofing accessories are engineered to interlock and overlap to resist wind lifting and keep out the harsh elements. We’re delighted to be partnering with Tilcor to raise awareness of and educate the UK market on its Bond range.”
Justin Ransted, Regional Manager for the UK and Ireland at Tilcor, said: “There is an opportunity to drive change in the UK construction industry and heighten awareness of alternative roofing products that can provide improved, long-term performance.
“We were introduced to Permaroof through a mutual business partner who had seen our lightweight tiles as the ideal roof covering for its steel framed buildings. Our ethos – faster, lighter, strong – is very much in line with Permaroof’s and, after initial conversations, it was soon apparent that Permaroof would be a very well-suited partner to educate the UK construction industry on the benefits of Tilcor pressed metal roof tiles.
“Permaroof has made great success of its partnership with Firestone and its rubberised EPDM for the flat roofing market. It’s that kind of proactivity, mixed with the team’s marketing enthusiasm through traditional and online social media portals, that made the company stand out as our ideal partner in the UK.
“The team also has extensive experience of promoting a product into different marketplaces within construction, such as the general public, builders’ merchants and contracting. Permaroof’s distribution network and knowledge of being able to move products that are not a standard size also makes it an ideal partner for our system.”
