Supplier Awards announced by PHG plumbing & heating group

Held at the Carden Park Hotel in Chester on 19th May 2022, the PHG Supplier Awards recognised excellence in the plumbing, heating and bathroom industry.

Billed as one of the largest gatherings of plumbing, heating & bathroom suppliers and independent merchants in the industry, over 249 guests from the sector attended the event, including 191 supplier representatives and 58 PHG representatives. Due to the Awards not being able to take place in the previous years as a consequence of the pandemic, this year’s event celebrated the achievements of both 2020 & 2021.

Hosted by PHG Chairman David Pochin, the Award winners and nominees were as follows:

PHG Innovation Award – Imex

PHG Instinct Supplier of the Year – Roper Rhodes

PHG Plumbing Supplier of the Year – STH Westco

Nominees = Altecnic, Lawton Tubes, Scalemaster, Viva Sanitary

PHG Bathroom Supplier of the Year – Heritage Bathrooms

Nominees = Grant Westfield, Merlyn, Roper Rhodes, Vado

PHG Heating Supplier of the Year – Ideal Heating

Nominees = EPH Controls, Gledhill, Grant, IRSAP, Resideo

PHG Overall Supplier of the YearRoper Rhodes

David Pochin said: “After the postponements of the previous two years it was a great opportunity for the PHG members and suppliers to get together over the two days to renew relationships, enjoy the activities, and celebrate the awards.”

As part of the celebrations, guests were able to take part in a Driving Experience at Oulton Park or play golf at Carden Park during the day. Other activities include powerturns, hovercrafts and clay shooting offsite. This was followed by the Awards Dinner at the Carden Park Hotel in the evening, which included a speech from David Pochin and an after-dinner speech from Angus Fraser, former England Cricketer and Middlesex CCC Captain.

PHG also raised £5,000 for Mind – the mental health charity through a charity raffle at the event.

Formed in 2012, PHG now has 16 merchant members operating out of 287 branches across the country and including some of the most experienced merchants in the sector.
