RGB Building Supplies has appointed Jenny Naylor as its new Managing Director. She is taking over from Andy Gamble who is retiring at the end of 2022, and will oversee RGB’s “continued growth across the South West”.
Jenny joined RGB as HR Manager in 2005 from the pharmaceutical industry. She was tasked with creating and developing an internal human resources department for RGB and later took on transportation and health & safety responsibilities. Jenny was appointed to the board as HR Director in 2016 where she became more involved in the operational aspects of the company.
Following RGB’s acquisition by Grant & Stone, and the subsequent merger with IBMG, Jenny became the Group HR Director, and is now returning to RGB.
Jenny said: “I’m delighted to have been appointed as RGB’s Managing Director. The business has a strong history and is full of people who are passionate about delivering the best possible service to our customers – our team has helped the business become one of the leading builders’ merchants in the South West. I’m looking forward to building on our solid industry reputation to maximise growth and become the first choice for tradespeople across the region.
“I wish Andy all the best with his retirement – he has certainly left big shoes to fill, and he will be missed by the whole team.”
As RGB’s first female Managing Director, Jenny is keen to encourage more women to consider the industry for their careers. She added: “People have the opinion that you need to have a trade to work in the builders’ merchant sector. Of course, the trades are vital to our success, but the industry has a wide range of career opportunities on offer, such as HR, merchandising, product development, sales, procurement, finance, and more. It’s an extremely supportive industry, and I would like to encourage more people to consider it.”
