Robert Price has acquired Gower Timber Ltd., adding the 22nd branch to the Robert Price Group.
Gower Timber is based in Penclawdd on the north side of the Gower peninsular. It is predominantly a timber merchant, holding a substantial range of timber and board products but also stocks and sells a large array of general building materials. An onsite mill offers timber cutting, planing and a protimising treatment service.
Gower Timber is already a successful business, with a fine reputation for service. Being part of The Robert Price Group will bring opportunities for growth and new avenues for development. It is an exciting prospect for both teams.
Working closely with the existing mill at Taffs Well, Gower Timber will enhance and extend its current timber specialisation, simultaneously improving branch coverage in the western reaches of the network, the company states. It will also be further developing the builders’ merchant element, working closely with the existing branch at Somerset Place, in Swansea city centre.
Gower Timber has a comprehensive range of vehicles enabling it to provide a reliable and flexible delivery service. Working alongside its existing haulage, the additional five Gower Timber vehicles and drivers will improve and increase its transport capacity across the western and southern parts of the company’s catchment area.
Gower Timber will continue to trade as a separate business under the Gower Timber banner but as branch 22 in The Robert Price Group, it will link closely with all its branches. All at Robert Price are pleased to mark our 170th centenary with this exciting acquisition.
