Lifesaving charity, Shropshire.Staffordshire.Cheshire Blood Bikes (SSCBB) has received a £6k donation from Russell Roof Tiles.
Staff from Russell Roof Tiles have cooked, golfed, and volunteered throughout the year to raise as much money as possible for charity and its Community Fund. Recent charity ventures included a sponsored weight loss challenge, a golf tournament and its big annual quiz night.
The Community Fund was created by Russell Roof Tiles at the start of 2018 and is a communal pot whereby a number of local charities and groups receive a share of money to support the great work they are doing in the local community.
SSCBB is a volunteer-led charity, providing lifesaving medical supplies to NHS foundations, by transporting vital blood products, bone marrow, breast milk for premature babies and other life-critical supplies to local hospitals via motorbike, where every minute counts in helping seriously ill and injured patients. SSCBB undertakes approximately 5,000 jobs a year, meaning the donations are vital to keep this service running.
Russell Roof Tiles has been supporting SSCBB since 2015, and it remains an important local charity for the manufacturer, with 2019 set to be another fantastic year of fundraising with exciting charity plans already in place.
Andrew Hayward, Managing Director at Russell Roof Tiles, said: “The staff have been working incredibly hard to raise money for our Community Fund and I’m so proud of what they have achieved. The money donated to SSCBB is important as it will go some way in providing a vital and lifesaving service that we feel privileged to be able to contribute towards.”
Jeremy Cartwright, Chair of SSCBB, added: “The money raised by Russell Roof Tiles will be well used to keep our fleet of 15 blood bikes safely ‘on the road’. It will cover all important fuel, servicing, tyres and insurance. We are privileged to have the continued support of Russell Roof Tiles who have funded two blood bikes for us in the past three years.”
