SAM, the Antrim-based MDF mouldings manufacturer, has secured the title of the 2022 Jewson ‘Overall Supplier of the Year’ award, as the business also reports a ‘record start’ to the new year.
In addition to winning the overall title, SAM also received two category nominations – for ‘Best Sales Support’ and ‘Best Marketing Support’ – at the Jewson Awards, claiming victory in the latter category. Sales Director Gerard Wilson said: “We are very honoured to receive two award wins from Jewson. The recognition and reward for our efforts and hard work to bring the best products to our network means a lot at this time.
“Our team has worked very hard to adapt to the challenges of the past few years and works extremely closely with Jewson. This award is testament to the whole team at SAM and our strong relationship with the team at Jewson – one we are extremely proud of.”
The Jewson Awards were held on the 14th December at The Vox in Resorts World in Birmingham. The merchant’s Commercial Director Lisa Young commented: “Proactivity and collaboration are the words used to describe this supplier by colleagues from all parts of Jewson. There have been challenges throughout 2022, however, SAM’s approach has been positive and results-driven throughout. Communications are open and honest, which has built a genuine level of trust with this supplier. Special mentions to Lisa Lynch and Michelle McNeill for their outstanding support!”
The award comes at what has been described as an important time for SAM as the business “sets its sights on a big year ahead.” Gerard Wilson added: “At the end of 2022 we announced our £1m investment in our product range and introduction of a new primed finish, and that’s just the start of what’s in store. 2023 will further demonstrate our commitment to the supplier and merchant network as we soon unveil more investment and products.”
The scale of operation at SAM’s two manufacturing sites “enables the business to supply large amounts of product to the merchant network” with the firm noting that this “strengthens the product offering for its customers to service their own customer network efficiently, during what is currently a challenging time for merchants.”
