The merchant finished September with two awards to its name.
At the annual Builders’ Merchants Federation Awards, held at the Hinckley Island Hotel, Greg Ace, LBS Online Sales Manager, walked away with the title of Young Merchant Achiever of the Year 2017.
Greg wins a cheque for £2,000, as well as a trophy and a trip to Sweden from sponsor SCA Timber. He is also the very first team-member of LBS to win this award.
Greg has completely re-built the LBS e-commerce platform to create a better purchasing experience for visitors. In a traditionally customer-facing industry, Greg and his team have built a significant contributor for the company which stands alongside other branches.
Toby Lewis, SCA Timber, noted: “Greg’s work has been noticed for some time within SCA and despite some very strong contenders in the end it was an easy choice. Looking forward to the trip to Sweden.”
Greg, shortly after the ceremony, stated: “I was in complete shock when my name was read out from the envelope. It was a great event and a really good opportunity to meet others from the industry. I’m over the moon with the award and feel like we have only just scratched the surface of the potential that the department has, so am looking forward to hopefully more online success for LBS moving forward!”
Just a couple of days later, the company was also shortlisted at the 2017 Build It Awards for “Best Builders’ Merchant for Self-Builders”. LBS was announced as National Winners, another first for the business. The event brought together architects, manufacturers and key industry figures in recognition of innovation and excellence in the custom and self-build home sector.
These two award wins follow recognition at the 2017 Federation of Master Builder Awards on the 15th September, where the company was named as one of the top three builders’ merchants in the UK. The Master Builder Awards celebrate the best of the best in the construction industry. Now in its 13th year, this wasn’t an award that LBS had been up for before and the business was thrilled to be shortlisted and recognised by its customers, many of whom are members of the Federation of Master Builders.
Mark Davies, Managing Director, LBS: “We are so proud of the external recognition that the company has received in the past month. To receive an accolade from our customers in the Federation of Master Builders as one of the top three merchants in the UK was amazing, and then to top that with our Online Manager winning Best Young Achiever in the industry and LBS being voted Best Builders’ Merchant in the UK for Self-Builders is a real testament to the commitment and hard work of all our colleagues.”
