Supreme Concrete has announced it will be continuing its programme of significant investment across its manufacturing facilities.
The work, which started last year and will continue into 2019, is being carried out at its Bedford, Barnwell and Evesham plants. The investment will aim to provide additional financial support for a programme of upgrades to legacy production machinery, as well as significant improvements to on-site staff welfare facilities.
At Bedford, work includes the installation of new silos for the storage of raw materials, as well as improvements to on-site staff facilities, such as new washroom, changing facilities and a new canteen area, the creation of an additional stock area and extending the concrete car park to improve dust emissions created by vehicle movement.
A new reception area, office facilities, meeting space and work hub for visitors and production supervisors has been installed at Evesham, whilst the work at Barnwell marks the largest refurbishment of facilities in the site’s history.
Projects include a retrofit of the factory’s lighting to modern, efficient LED lighting technology, a new canteen, changing and washroom facilities, a new meeting room and the introduction of facilities for contract HGV drivers.
Mark Yates, Production Director at Supreme, says the investment is proof of the company’s commitment to its staff, their welfare and their professional development.
He commented: “There has never been a more positive and exciting time to be a part of Supreme Concrete. Companies like ours can only grow and succeed in our competitive market if we really invest in our people: it is our team that makes our business. The investment at these key sites gives us a much-needed boost – it makes us more efficient; and allows us to demonstrate an even greater commitment to developing the skills within our team. In short, it gives us a really good foundation to build on for the future.”
