Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, Trade Fabrication Systems has been purchased by Arclin, the Georgia, USA-headquartered polymer technologies and engineered products specialist.
Arclin produces a wide range of solutions for numerous applications including building products, agriculture, transportation infrastructure, weather & fire protection and other industries. The business has now announced it has completed the purchase of TFS, one of the UK’s leading processors of coated and laminated wood based panel products, with operations in Warrington and Cowie, Scotland.
The acquisition of TFS marks Arclin’s entrance into the panel laminating and spray coating capabilities, in addition to other assets key to providing finished products. Matt Pogue, the firm’s President of Engineered Building Solutions, said: “The acquisition of TFS is a key part of our strategy to expand our presence internationally into new regions while also diversifying our product offerings into markets that are related to our core surfacing competencies.
“TFS provides new products and capabilities to Arclin, both in Europe and in North America, thereby supporting and strengthening Arclin’s objective of getting closer to the end consumer while being a key partner in executing Arclin’s Growth & Innovation (G&I) initiatives.”
TFS Managing Director Howard Morris commented: “TFS celebrated its 25 year anniversary earlier this year and this acquisition marks a transformative moment for the future of the company. (It) unlocks unprecedented resources and growth potential for existing and potential business partners whilst allowing us to sell new products into our current markets, along with cross-selling into new overseas markets.”
Following the acquisition, TFS will continue to trade under its existing brand name, and operations continue un-affected.
A statement posted on the TFS LinkedIn page added the following details: “Arclin is one of the world’s leading producers of high performance resins and innovative surface overlays. Being part of Arclin strengthens our existing offsite offering and will enable us to add even greater value to our B2B customers.
“In the coming months we’ll be leveraging this new relationship to accelerate research and development, bringing innovative new offsite products and processing solutions to market.”
The post also referenced the promotion of General Manager Adam Morris to Director. Adam, who started at TFS as a summer job during his time at university and subsequently worked his way through the business, will “remain at the forefront of our daily operations while working alongside Howard to drive forward this exciting new chapter in our 25 year journey.”
