Every year the company donates a minibus to a school to mark the sponsorship of the Travis Perkins Masters event. This year it donated a minibus to Blanche Nevile School for Deaf Children. To show their thanks the children from Blanche Nevile, and their mainstream partner school, Highgate Primary who shares the same school site, designed special 10 year celebration cards for the company.
Stephen Falzon, from Travis Perkins branch, Alexandra Palace, said: “It’s fantastic to see the children get so involved in our event at Woburn and as their local branch we were delighted to be asked to be involved.”
William Dean, Interim Head Teacher at the school said: “All the staff and children at Blanche Nevile are thrilled to be receiving a Variety minibus sponsored by Travis Perkins. It was a real pleasure for us all to meet the representatives from Travis Perkins and for the children to share their gratitude by designing a thank you card. The minibus will help expand and enrich the education of all our Deaf children and bring many new opportunities; we are delighted and incredibly appreciative.”
John Carter, CEO of Travis Perkins, said: “We are incredibly proud to be celebrating our 10th year at Woburn as sponsor of the Travis Perkins Masters. We started life as a family business more than 200 years ago and upholding family values is one of our cornerstones or values we encourage. In this anniversary year at Woburn we are hoping to encourage more families and young people to come along and find out more about golf from the professionals, watch them in action and spend time enjoying the atmosphere at Woburn Golf Club.
“This is a real community event for us and we’re delighted to support the community too. We’re thrilled the children have taken the time to design a card for us and it shall be displayed proudly as a reminder of all the vehicles we’ve been able to provide across the local area, supporting children in the time we’ve been sponsoring this great event.”
The event takes place on the Duke’s Course at Woburn Golf Club on September 1st, 2nd and 3rd and is part of the European Senior Tour. Tickets are available by calling 01344 840550 or online at www.europeantour.com/tickets
