Travis Perkins’ recently opened Witney branch boasts a host of sustainable initiatives and has created 20 new jobs, roughly a third of which have been filled by female staff.
The new Witney branch is two acres in size and, as part of the Group’s ambitions to minimise carbon emissions by 90%, the site includes solar panels, electric forklift trucks, electric charging points and a heat source pump. These innovations will help to deliver on its ambition of decarbonising its fleet and becoming a net-zero carbon producer.
Facilities at the include Travis Perkins Hire facilities, a Benchmarx kitchen display showroom and an extensive plumbing, heating and bathroom range. It also features a large hard landscaping range whilst an extended range in the yard includes PEFC & FSC certified timber plus bricks, blocks, drainage and lintels.
In addition to in-branch service, customers can also use the one hour Click & Collect service, or next day delivery as well as a Branch Delivery Tracking Service, which is described as giving customers the best possible delivery notifications in real-time without having to make a telephone call. Customers can also make use of the Travis Perkins App to check stock on the go and order instantly with their personal trade prices.
Branch Manager Gabrielle Pearce (see main image) said: “We’re really excited to have opened our doors to the tradespeople and builders of Witney. We have a great team in place and are doing what matters for the trade in Oxfordshire. This branch will have everything they need, when and where they need it, and will deliver them value, convenience and consistency.
“The fact that twenty new jobs have been created because of the branch opening is a huge bonus too – we’ve never had so many female applicants. It means we’ll be able to support all of our customers with choice, quality, convenience and brilliant service day-in, day-out and offer a fantastic delivery and collection service that doesn’t compromise them on time.”
