Three National Buying Group (NBG) partners from across the UK, are expanding their offerings with new sites, branches and showrooms.
The partners, based in Oxford, Derby and Malvern, are said to be looking to re-invest in their businesses and broaden their product and service offerings.
Oxford-based Heavyside merchants, Adrian White Building Supplies, has recently acquired a 1.5-acre yard and warehouse. This follows the addition of a new freehold Wyevale garden centre to its portfolio.
Managing Director, Adrian White, said: “We have outgrown our two sites in Oxfordshire, so the new site will become our distribution centre as of January 2019 and our head office the year after. The expansion is massive for our business as it will allow staff at our original sites to focus on selling, as well as becoming more customer friendly with less vehicle movement. As landscape merchants, we are proud to announce the new garden centre and we’re confident it will make a great addition.”
Browns Builders Merchants will also be opening a second branch in Derby later this month, as the current size of its premises is reportedly too small to cater for the growing business. The company is also set to expand its current product ranges in the hope of future proofing the business as well as allowing continued growth and improved service.
Joining the growing partners is County Building Supplies, after recently opening a new branch in Tetbury. Joint owner, Martyn Rees, commented: “The opening of our new branch went really well and was even attended by rugby legend, Mike Tindall! We also have a new branch manager, Tom West has been fast-tracked from within the business after completing a BMF management training course. This is a brilliant opportunity for Tom to grow the business with his own branch.”
The news follows County’s continued expansion with a Kitchen and Bathroom Showroom opening this time last year in Cheltenham. The new branch completes the Malvern-based merchants’ 10 branch portfolio with future plans to open a further stand-alone Kitchen & Bathroom Showroom in the next few months in Evesham.
Nick Oates, Managing Director at NBG, commented: “It’s great news that so many of our partners are experiencing a period of growth. It is a true testament to their hard work and at NBG we are proud to support them through securing great deals that improve bottom lines.”
