The Builders Merchants Federation turns to the lightside with its latest product Forum which will focus on Tools, Fixings and Workwear.
To be chaired by Simon Bicknell, Marketing Director at Toolbank, the Tools, Fixings and Workwear Forum will meet for the first time on July 7, 2020 at BMF’s head office and training centre in Coventry.
BMF CEO, John Newcomb said: “Simon is the ideal Chair for our latest Forum. He has worked in different commercial roles within the tool trade for over forty years, as a retailer, manufacturer and distributor, and has a wealth of experience to share.”
Simon Bicknell said: “I am really pleased to be able to help the BMF co-ordinate the sharing of some of the best ideas and excellent initiatives that are being practised throughout the industry. We know that products like Tools, Workwear, PPE & Fixings are a relatively small element of a merchant’s business, but they are absolutely fundamental to every trade and task so it will be good if we can help raise their profile.
“One of the benefits of working as part of the Toolbank team for many years is that I have met and worked with many great suppliers, customers and influencers from several markets and we will be encouraging them to share some of their best initiatives and successes with BMF members.”
The first Tools, Fixings and Workwear Forum will include speakers from Stanley Black & Decker, Dickies, Reisser, Band of Builders – a registered charity set up to help members of the UK construction industry battling illness or injury through practical projects – and Rachel Fryer from Merrit & Fryer, winners of the Lightside Showroom of the Year in the 2019 Builders Merchants Awards.
