A six-strong team from Hamerville Media Group, along with several other trade media journalists, successfully completed Tough Mudder London South last weekend.
Craig Jowsey (pictured above in what were once red shorts), PBM’s Group Advertisement Manager, was part of the #BoschMudder team which took on the gruelling 11.5 mile course at Matterley Bowl, near Winchester, on behalf of Bosch Professional Power Tools, one of the main sponsors of the Tough Mudder events this year.
Daniel Tovey, Jack Holdsworth and Anthony Scott (Professional Electrician), Calum McConnachie (Professional Housebuilder & Property Developer) and Ian Hart, Assistant Editor of Professional Motor Mechanic magazine, completed the Hamerville line-up.
As part of its sponsorship Bosch has supplied its 18V cordless power tool range to the construction team at Tough Mudder who spend weeks prior to each event building the obstacles. On event days, either before or after their run, competitors were able to visit the Bosch tent at Base Camp to take on the strength challenge, which involved seeing how many house bricks you could lift, or have a team photograph taken.
Tough Mudder, described as the ‘toughest event on the planet’ consists of a 10-12 mile run across all kinds of terrain, broken up by 28 obstacles from Hero Walls to ice plunge pools and muddy swaps.
New to the 2015 roster was ‘Cry Baby’, which meant crawling through a tent of tear gas. The final most infamous and feared obstacle; Electroshock Therapy; is sponsored by Bosch. Mudders rely on teamwork, stamina and endurance to get through the web of shock wires blasting participants with 10,000 volts!
The Hamerville team all completed the course battered and bruised, but were all the better for the experience
