“Significant investment” refreshes five Pipe Centre and Climate Centre branches

Pipe Centre and Climate Centre have made a significant investment to five key branches in a move to deliver improved customer environments while supporting colleagues with modern, fit-for-purpose facilities.

Between April and August 2025, branches in Cambridge, Hutton, Strood, Exeter and Edinburgh underwent extensive upgrades, each receiving a fresh, contemporary look designed to better serve trade customers. Refurbishments include brand-new trade counters, upgraded flooring and modern workstations integrated into trade counters, enabling colleagues to remain customer-facing at all times for an improved service.

Colleague welfare has also been enhanced with designated break areas and updated facilities, creating a more comfortable and productive working environment.

Pete Grierson, Managing Director of Pipe Centre and Climate Centre, said: “This refurbishment programme is a critical step in delivering the modern, welcoming environments our customers and colleagues deserve. We’re not just refreshing our branches visually; we’re transforming how we work and serve our customers, ensuring every visit is a positive experience.

“In addition to these five branches, we will also be investing further into our whole estate over the next three years, including 13 refurbishments. By investing in both our facilities and our people, we’re creating spaces that foster better engagement, improve efficiency, and strengthen our commitment to outstanding service across the entire network.”

The number of customer-facing merchandising bays has been significantly increased, enhancing product visibility and making it easier for customers to access the items they need. Trade counters have been thoughtfully redesigned to promote better customer interaction while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Updated signage also now reflects the latest brand identities, while customers can enjoy new amenities such as coffee machines, adding to the overall convenience and welcoming atmosphere of each branch.

This refurbishment programme represents a key milestone in fully integrating previously under-branded branches into the Wolseley estate, delivering consistent quality and creating a modern, welcoming atmosphere throughout the network.
