Overland Shoes announces the launch of Bobcat Safety Footwear

Promising “bold, disruptive styles and outstanding comfort” while targeting the ‘underserved middle’ segment of the market, Overland Shoes has introduced Bobcat Safety Footwear.

Developed under license from Doosan Bobcat Inc, the new Bobcat Safety Footwear range is said to channel the “bold innovation and trusted legacy” of the leading compact construction equipment business into a fresh offering for the ‘underserved middle’ segment of the safety footwear market.

The launch is billed as representing a significant opportunity for merchants, wholesalers and retailers to capitalise on a bold, new category of safety footwear styles backed by the legacy of the Bobcat brand. Designed to disrupt the market in standout style and performance, the collection also delivers “exceptional comfort” through the exclusive Redbacks Cushioning System—technology customers won’t find in any other boot.

Redbacks Cushioning System

At the heart of Bobcat Safety Footwear is the proprietary Redbacks Cushioning System – stated as being a breakthrough in comfort technology. Unlike traditional foam or gel insoles that merely absorb impact, the Redbacks Cushioning System features a “unique leaf-spring technology that actively disperses pressure across the foot with every step, reducing strain across the foot and helping prevent fatigue before it starts.”

“Comfort is a number one driver in safety footwear purchases. In fact, 70% say it is their top priority,” says Peter Lawson, Brand Manager at Overland Shoes. “Due to the prolonged standing required for so many jobs, often on hard surfaces, tradespeople are at increased risk of plantar fasciitis which causes severe heel pain. That’s why we have incorporated Redbacks Cushioning Technology which stops pain before it starts.

“It’s a powerful differentiator that will drive sales at the trade counter and cut through competitive noise. This isn’t just another boot – it’s a solution customers can’t get anywhere else.”

The range

Five distinct outsole series are each named after iconic American industrial locations and engineered for specific trade applications. The Delta series offers athletic-inspired trainers like the Knox (with FitLock speed lacing) and Rockford for indoor environments, while the Summit series provides versatile hikers including the Rapid and Toledo for indoor/outdoor versatility.

The Forge series, meanwhile, delivers precision performance with ladder grip technology and the Keystone series offers heat-resistant protection for trades like welding and foundry work. Lastly, the Bastion series provides maximum protection with heavy-duty boots for the most demanding applications.

Every style in the range showcases design elements inspired by Bobcat equipment – from grip-enhancing tread patterns to the distinctive operator cab “cage” uppers– while all models benefit from the Redbacks Cushioning System’s signature leaf-spring cushioning.

The collection includes 15+ styles across both men’s and women’s fits, with safety ratings from S3S to S7L. Most designs feature 100% metal-free construction, with composite safety toe caps and puncture-resistant midsoles. Selected models also include the FitLock quick-release system for fast, secure fastening.

Brand integrity

The Bobcat name brings decades of established brand integrity to the safety footwear category. As a global leader in compact construction equipment, Bobcat is already “synonymous with toughness, versatility and innovation among professional trades.” This existing brand recognition translates into “immediate credibility and faster sales conversion for retail partners.”

In addition, Overland Shoes has a proven track record of building successful footwear brands across Europe. Its “deep industry expertise and insight into what drives purchasing decisions” is said to make it an ideal partner for launching Bobcat Safety Footwear.

The collection is available to order now, with Overland Shoes actively building its network of 100 initial points of sale. Retail partners receive dedicated support, including training, product guidance and marketing materials to ensure partner success.
