Long Rake Spar gears up for growth with senior sales appointments

Long Rake Spar has bolstered its sales team with the promotion of Shane McCormick, whilst Alistair Rattenbury has joined as ASM for the South West.

The long-established decorative aggregates supplier has announced the promotion of Shane McCormick to Group Sales Director, who steps up from his role as National Sales Director, reflecting both his significant contribution to the business and the company’s continued growth across multiple sectors.

With over 20 years’ experience in the landscape and construction industry, Shane (pictured above, left) brings exceptional commercial expertise and strategic leadership to the position. Throughout his career, he has held senior sales roles with Marshalls, Namgrass and Talasey, building a reputation for driving performance and strengthening customer partnerships.

His influence within the sector has been widely recognised, earning him a place in the Top 100 Influencers in the Supply Field. He is also a member of the Worshipful Company of Builders Merchants, underlining his standing within the merchant industry.

In his new role, Shane will take responsibility for leading the wider group sales strategy, supporting the company’s ambitious growth plans while maintaining Long Rake Spar’s “long-established focus on service, quality and trusted relationships.”

In addition, Alistair Rattenbury (pictured above, right) has also joined the company as Area Sales Manager for the South West. Bringing a strong track record in the construction and merchant sector, having held roles with leading businesses including Travis Perkins, Jewson and Sika, his industry knowledge and clear understanding of customer expectations make him a valuable addition to the team.
