B&Q TradePoint holds successful Trade Day at standalone Barking branch

B&Q TradePoint hosted the first ever Trade Day at its recently-opened store in Barking in early July.

Opened in March, the standalone store format was described at the time of its launch as “a significant investment, underlining B&Q’s commitment to making TradePoint a £1 billion business.” TradePoint already constitutes approaching 25% of B&Q’s total sales and has grown consistently in recent years, even as the wider building materials market has struggled.

The event itself brought together key trade suppliers, leading products and the latest innovations for trade customers at the 32,000 sq ft store, which was created to offer a host of trade-specific services including 6am opening (Monday to Saturday), 15 minute click and collect, load and go collection, same day delivery in as little as two hours and next day bulk delivery.

In addition, the depot stocks more than 5,500 products to take away, with a further 25,000
available for collection or delivery. It also features two cutting saws for timber and plasterboard cutting, paint mixing, Speedy Tool Hire and dedicated trade business development managers to support customers in store and online.

Speaking at the event, Director John Morgan commented: “We were delighted to welcome local tradespeople to our B&Q TradePoint store in Barking and celebrate the opportunity to deepen our connection with the trade community. This is also an exciting moment as we introduce an exclusive 10% discount for all TradePoint members shopping at our Barking store.

“This reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering great value and supporting trade professionals with the products, services and expertise they need every day.”
