Software that scales up with your business

Software that scales up with your business

Border Merchant Systems has introduced CounterAct GROW, a cloud-based solution designed specifically for single-site, new and growing merchant businesses.

Developed as part of Border’s wider CounterAct offering, GROW is said to provide the core functionality needed to manage the day-to-day operations of a merchant business from a single system. It has been designed with businesses at the earlier stages of their journey in mind, whether they are investing in merchant-specific software for the first time or considering a move from an existing system.

CounterAct GROW incorporates many of the key processes found within Border’s established CounterAct system, including Sales, Pricing, Purchasing, Stock Control, Accounts, Delivery Management and Reporting. Bringing these functions together provides businesses with a single system across their organisation, rather than relying on a collection of separate solutions.

Equally, Border asserts that support has always been an important part of its proposition. The company originally began as a support organisation for a consortium of independent merchants, before developing its own software, and “that heritage continues to influence the way it works with customers today.”

Accordingly, alongside its software, Border provides in-house training and project management services, as well as ongoing support to help users “make the most of their system and navigate the everyday challenges of running a merchant business.”

A key consideration in developing CounterAct GROW was scalability, ensuring that as a business develops and its requirements change, additional functionality and integrations can be introduced when needed. These include Border’s ePOD (electronic Proof of Delivery), Asset Checker, Stock Check App and Customer Account Portal.

Border has also developed partnerships with a range of third-party providers, extending the capabilities available to CounterAct users. These include integrations with businesses such as NearSt, Red Flag, Prommt, Dojo and Fetchify.

The result is a system “designed to provide a solid starting point for new and growing merchant businesses, while allowing them to build on that foundation as their operations, customer base and requirements develop.”

CEO, Paul Deane commented: “Being able to offer small independent and growing merchants the opportunity of a system that works for them and grows with them was imperative for us as business. Dealing only with the merchant sector gives us the visibility of what the industry needs for merchants to be able to grow and evolve. CounterAct GROW is exactly this.”

With more than 35 years of experience working exclusively within the merchant industry, Border continues to develop its software around the changing needs of the businesses it supports.
