Beesley & Fildes reports that it has built up a positive partnership with Dakea by such means as fully utilising the roof window manufacturer’s Online Toolkit, benefitting from various training offers and maintaining a collaborative approach with the company’s Area Sales Manager. PBM takes a closer look.
With its head office in Huyton, near Liverpool, Beesley & Fildes has nine branches across the North West. Intent on finding more supplier partners that could present a cost-effective and innovative product range suited to the firm’s offering, Roofing Products Manager Ian Carr believes he has found a great fit with Dakea.
A key part of this has been through the utilisation of the Dakea Online Toolkit, which is described as providing “vital sales support”. The service features downloadable product graphics including logos, pictures and banners which are all tailored to increasing brand awareness and can be hosted on the Beesley & Fildes website.
In addition, the Online Toolkit also contains various electronic product pricing sheets, alongside guidance on how to optimise Dakea content and generate traffic to both supplier and merchant’s websites, further helping to drive sales.
Ian said: “I am delighted with the support we’ve received. This is particularly thanks to (ASM) Chris Phillips who in a short time period, has delivered staff training, developed the team’s knowledge on tiles and roof windows, and provided various informative point of sales materials and price guides.”
Chris added: “The training allows merchant staff to become well informed on our product range and then impart this crucial knowledge to customers,” and with further technical training scheduled for Beesley & Fildes staff — including using online training tools such as the Dakea Academy — Ian is optimistic his staff members will continue to build on their positive relationship to enable future business growth.
In terms of the Dakea product range, Ian commented: “With an impressive 20-year guarantee, free installation accessories such as the insulation foam collar and the underfelt foil collar, we’re really excited about selling the products.”
The Ultima roof window plays an integral role in the supplier’s portfolio. Utilising innovative technology, it is said to be able to reduce external noise 50% more effectively than standard roof windows and significantly mutes impact sounds such as rain or hail and external noise including traffic.
Featuring comfort glass technology, the unit also shields against ultraviolet (UV) light and is capable of reflecting 95% of harmful UV rays. Thanks to two low emission double-action layers — V9 and V6 — Ultima is also engineered to ensure properties remain cool during the summer and retain warmth during winter time, helping to both reduce household energy bills and protect furniture from fading.
Ian concludes by saying: “We’ve had a lot of the Ultima product in stock, and since listing the range we’ve had a 15-20% increase in our sales of roof windows.”
