ACO has extended its training offering for the Urban + Landscape range with the addition of two new modules to its online Academy training portal.
Building on its current portfolio of training modules, the site already offers an ‘Introduction to Channel Drainage’, as well as a course that looks specifically at A 15 – B 125 applications.
With surface water management identified as one of the most pressing issues for the construction industry, as evidenced by the severe flooding in recent years, the new modules will keep customers up-to-speed with all the latest developments, products and installation best practice.
Aimed at individuals working on residential and commercial developments, the new courses include ‘Channel Drainage C 250’ and ‘Landscaping Systems’. Each module is tailored towards ACO’s Urban + Landscape range of drainage systems, which can be applied to drives, patios and level doorway thresholds, as well as permeable ground reinforcement systems.
When planning domestic and commercial developments it is crucial that surface water and its collection process is considered. The C 250 module addresses channel drainage products suitable for light to medium duty traffic applications, referencing products such as ACO’s HexDrain Pro and CivicDrain. The Landscaping Systems course identifies products and installation practice for grass and gravel stabilisation applications.
The ACO Academy is a flexible training resource that offers a range of courses through e-learning and also at a practical level, either on-site or even at the ACO Academy facilities in Shefford, Bedfordshire.
Phil Windus, Market Manager – Merchants at ACO, comments: “With the rapid development of new products in the construction industry, training is key to keeping up-to-speed with the latest advances. The addition of two new e-learning modules will support merchants and contractors in their efforts to manage surface water correctly and sustainably. Each online training course is between five and ten minutes long, aiming to provide a snapshot of information that can be quickly assimilated into individuals’ jobs, either in branch or on-site.
“Both modules are specifically designed to support merchants and installers using ACO products and we take pride in supporting our customers every step of the way, from specification to installation, and the new online courses aim to improve this offering significantly. What’s more, all our online services are free of charge, without any obligation.”
