Artex, the well-known distributor of some of the UK’s best known construction brands – including Gyproc, Thistle and Weber – has announced a full rebrand to Okarno.
The new Okarno brand name is said to better reflects what the company does as an essential supply chain partner for a range of leading construction products. The rebranded website www.okarno.com will go live in January and showcases all the company’s products in an easily accessible format.
With a strapline ‘There are no others like us’ [giving the arno part of the new name], the Okarno brand is intended to “create a common sense of purpose, energy, and enthusiasm, whilst capturing the company’s unique approach to supply chain logistics.” In addition, the new all-encompassing brand “establishes a strong base for continued growth” by opening up opportunities to offer innovative new products.
The Okarno service provides a combination of leading trade brands, delivering them through three service offerings with customers able to choose from single pallets, mixed pallet loads, through to small parcels. Customers can order as little as a single pallet, whether that’s a full pallet of a single product, or a mixed pallet of products from across the range.
Tailoring its offering to match the needs of customers of all shapes and sizes, from independent merchants through to national retailers and online stockists, the Okarno Gyproc Express service also allows customers to order a single parcel of product for small and speedy orders.
As part of the Saint-Gobain group, Okarno is committed to becoming a net-zero carbon business by 2050 and has already made significant steps towards this goal, positioning the business as a supply chain sustainable champion within the industry.
Jason Smith, Managing Director at Okarno, said: “The Okarno brand represents a modern yet adaptable style that retains links to our heritage. This is important for our customers as we have strong and deep roots in our market place. It’s important to remember that although we have a new name, we are still the same great business, with the same great products and people.”
Jason added: “The Okarno brand has solid foundations built on purpose, energy and enthusiasm. These are the cornerstone of everything we do – continually looking for ways to exceed customer expectations, deliver best-in-class, unique service that makes life easier for them. The Okarno philosophy is to help customers to order what they need, when they need it.”
The company will retain the Artex brand and associated products, which will continue to be listed within the Okarno catalogue. However, the new brand will draw on the heritage, experience and knowledge within the 89-year old business to continue its evolution from a manufacturer of textured finish to an “essential supply chain partner for a range of leading construction product brands… (that) will continue to transform the supply side logistics for trade merchants, decorator centres and large retail sectors.”
