With the next stage of its Sector Awareness programme ramping up, the BMF is looking for three volunteers to be the face of BM Careers and share their story via social media and consumer press briefings.
Leading up to the consumer press launch on 5 February 2025, BM Careers social media channels – LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok – are now being populated with regular posts designed to help make our sector more attractive to new entrants and existing colleagues, and to drive traffic to www.bmcareers.com to find out more. This is now the main information hub for potential new entrants to discover how our sector is making a material difference to the built environment, and which of the many job roles available would best suit them.
As sector ambassadors, the three volunteers will work with BMF communications teams to self-generate social media content about themselves and their work through BM Careers social channels and share their story via the consumer press. In return for their support, the BMF is offering each volunteer a day’s training course of their choice.
If you would like to become a volunteer, please email marianna.peet@bmf.org.uk by Friday 6 December.
The BMF is also calling on all members to act now to ensure they are represented on the BM Careers website with an Employer Profile now that the site is being promoted. Contact the BMF for tips on how to maximise your presence on the website, access an editable toolkit of assets and brochures to use in your HR and talent programmes, and amplify the national social media campaign.
With its vision to enable members to ‘build excellence’ in building materials supply, total membership of the BMF (as of 1 Sept 2024) now stands at 1,000 merchant and supplier companies who together have combined sales of £50.2bn and employ just under 203,000 people in the building materials sector.
The BMF’s 521 merchant members, including 82 now from Ireland, operate from over 6,500 branches across the UK and Ireland.
