The Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) has joined the Trade Association Forum.
Described as “the Trade Association for Trade Associations”, the Forum is a collective group of the Top 300 trade bodies in the UK, spanning every business sector. Its diverse membership includes well known names such as ABTA the travel association, the Road Haulage Association and the National Farmers Union.
One of the Forum’s key functions is to encourage the development and sharing of best practice amongst its members. The business sectors represented may be unique, but they face many of the same organisational issues. The Forum also promotes the role of effective trade associations to government, industry and the wider public.
Said BMF MD, John Newcomb: “Membership of the Trade Association Forum will enable us to benchmark our performance and support for members against a wide variety of industry bodies. Just as we encourage our members to learn from best practice in our industry, as a professional trade body we want to learn from our peers in different industries. This will help to generate fresh ideas and services that will benefit BMF members.”
Linda Cavender, General Manager of the Trade Association Forum, said: “I am delighted to welcome the BMF to the Trade Association Forum family. I am already aware of some excellent initiatives run by the BMF which clearly demonstrate best practice, and I look forward to working with them over the coming membership year.”
