An additional two BMF members – Kerridge Commercial Systems and Xtratherm – were amongst the 11 Zero Carbon Business Champions announced in the final assessment round of 2021.
CO2nstruct Zero is a Construction Leadership Council initiative that brings together organisations that are demonstrating leadership in relation to carbon reduction, sharing their good practice with others from across the UK construction sector and providing a set of metrics that enables the sector to collectively measure its progress to Net Zero.
Since its launch more than 50 Business Champions – including 20 BMF member companies – have committed to targeted carbon reduction and to provide details of how they are achieving this to help others on their journey.
Congratulating the two latest Zero Carbon Champions to come from its membership ranks, BMF CEO John Newcomb said: “CO2nstruct Zero has provided a standard for the whole industry to get behind, and I am delighted that a wide mix of BMF merchants, suppliers and service providers, have demonstrated their commitment and support this year. There will be further opportunities to do so in 2022. The CLC is particularly keen to receive applications from smaller organisations, and I encourage BMF members of all sizes to take action.”
The CLC runs an ongoing monthly application programme for Zero Carbon Business Champion status. Companies wishing to apply in the next round must submit their entry by 14 January 2022. If any BMF member would like to be considered, please email June.Upton@bmf.org.uk for full details.
