BMF seeks to recruit Regional Manager for the South East

The Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) is looking to complement its existing team by recruiting a Regional Manager to cover the South East.

This position, reporting in the interim to the Merchant Development Manager and then into a new Commercial Director role, is home-based and is responsible for dealing directly with all merchant members in designated Regions. The prime responsibility of the role will involve the setting up and running of Regional Meetings, and the selling of training programmes and other business-related services to BMF members.

Other roles include helping deliver the Project Excellence Member Value strategy, recruiting new members, promotion of and recruitment for membership of merchant staff for the Institute of Builders Merchants (IOBM), dealing with member enquiries, assisting on membership renewals, and managing one of the BMF’s Product Category Forums.

The role will require travel to Members premises, BMF’s Head Office in Coventry and other major Industry events throughout the UK.

The position will initially be three to four days a week, with the potential of going to five days per week.

To be successful in this role, candidates will need to have a strong background within the building materials industry and previous experience of either working in or selling to builders’ merchants. A “can do” attitude is essential, and the BMF is looking for someone who has a positive outlook to life, is self-motivated and proactive and has a real determination to drive the BMF forward with continued membership growth and engagement”.

Salary is negotiable and will be dependent on commercial experience.
