Bond It achieves carbon neutral status

Bond It has achieved a major milestone in its drive for increased sustainability by becoming officially and independently certified as carbon neutral.

Dean Morgan, Managing Director at of the leading manufacturer of sealants, adhesives and building chemicals, commented: “Bond It remains committed to achieving ever greater levels of circularity and sustainability. This commitment stems not only from our belief in the highest standards of corporate social responsibility but also our desire to offer our customers greater accountability and transparency.

“We know many of the businesses we work with, whether they’re reselling or actually using our products, are increasingly looking to demonstrate careful environmental management throughout their supply chain and we want to help them meet that important requirement.”

To achieve its net zero status, Bond It has partnered with Carbon Neutral Britain. This has enabled the manufacturer to “offset the unavoidable carbon emissions produced by its operations with investments into verified and assured carbon sequestration and reduction projects around the world.” These projects range from tree planting schemes to the creation of infrastructure to generate and distribute renewable energy.

Becoming carbon neutral is said to be just the latest in a long line of steps being taken by Bond It as it seeks to minimise its environmental impact. The business reports that it also continues to invest into more energy and material efficient production technology and remains committed to manufacturing in the UK to ensure reduced product miles and a lower carbon footprint.

In addition, it uses renewable energy – including electricity generated by solar panels on its own factory roof – and further states it continually strives to reduce its packaging as well increase its packaging’s recyclability and use of PCR. The manufacturer also “proactively manages its waste streams to maximise recycling rates and minimise waste to landfill and regularly reviews its product formulations to reduce their risk to the environment and human health.”

Dean adds: “Achieving carbon neutrality is something of which the entire Bond It team is justifiably proud. As the UK Government seeks to decarbonise the economy and achieve net zero by 2050, we are delighted to be at the forefront in realising this ambitious goal.

“Becoming carbon neutral also demonstrates the strength of our commitment to sustainability and to contributing to the enhanced environmental credentials of our customers.”
