City Plumbing opens new branch in Basildon

Coupled with a Renewables Centre, Underfloor Heating Store and The Bathroom Showroom, City Plumbing has opened its new branch in Basildon. The business has also revealed details of its latest Renewables Trade Day, held recently at its depot in Bournemouth.

With the doors opening for business on Monday 26th February and having moved to a new location at Carnival Park on Carnival Close, City Plumbing says its brand new, larger Basildon branch will be able to offer greater stock availability to customers, coupled with a Renewables Centre, Underfloor Heating Store and The Bathroom Showroom.

As part of the specialist merchant’s ongoing commitment to supporting installers with energy efficient solutions, the Renewable Centre is described as being a “key component”  of the new branch, which offers tradespeople access to information, products and impartial advice about the range of renewables products such as air source heat pumps, solar PV, waste water heat recovery and EV chargers.

Plumber and social media influencer Allen Hart officially opened the branch at 10am, whilst representatives from suppliers including Worcester Bosch, Honeywell, Recoup, Rothenberger and Thermaskirt were in attendance to offer advice and a selection of giveaways on the day.

The underfloor heating products on show will be part of the Underfloor Heating Store, housed within City Plumbing’s new location. The Bathroom Showroom, meanwhile, displays an extensive range of bathroom products and suites for both the trade and end customers to visit. The creation of a larger branch has also created six additional roles within the Basildon area.

Hemal Morjaria, Managing Director of City Plumbing’s Renewables and Electrical division, said: “This flagship branch gives our customers a broader range and greater availability of stock. Coupled with this, through the launch of our second Renewables Centre, we’re demonstrating our ongoing commitment to a low carbon future with a host of sustainable heating and plumbing products on display. Our aim is to empower the trade to make a difference when it comes to renewable technologies.”

Branch Manager Gary Plummer added: “The official opening is a fantastic opportunity for our current customers, and potential new customers, to see what City Plumbing has to offer. Having a Renewables Centre, Underfloor Heating Store and The Bathroom Showroom as part of the branch, really gives customers that one stop shop for everything they need.”

On Tuesday 27th February, meanwhile, City Plumbing hosted a renewables trade event at its Bournemouth branch. The business, which has been hosting Electrification of Heat events nationwide, focused on solar and air source heat pumps and accessories at the event – with Bournemouth described as a “renewables hotspot in the UK” due to its south coast location.

Offering tradespeople a chance to see and interact with a showcase of products from multiple leading suppliers in the renewables field, the full day event ran from 7am to 7pm with customers welcome to drop in throughout the day in a way that suited their busy schedules.

Hemal Morjaria commented: “We have more than 1,600 current customers within a 20-mile radius of our City Plumbing Bournemouth branch and a further 250 renewable installers located nearby. This event gives installers, renewables specialists, gas engineers and electricians the opportunity to see a broad range of products up close and chat with manufacturers and suppliers about the various features and benefits.

“As a business, we’re committed to a greener future and hosting this Electrification of Heat event specifically for our trade customers gives us a fabulous opportunity to talk through the future of decarbonisation.”
