Covers Timber & Builders’ Merchants has announced its Southampton depot has been moved to a new, larger premises located one and a half miles from its existing site.
Opened on Monday 2 December, the new 2.6-acre site is located at Imperial House on Empress Road, consists of 30,000 square feet of warehouse space and provides free customer parking.
As well as an increased timber and heavyside offering, and an improved lightside section, customers can now benefit from a huge warehouse for undercover loading.
To celebrate the move, customers visiting the depot on its opening day were offered a free goody bag, free hot roll and hot drink and the chance to pull a Christmas cracker to win a prize.
The doors were officially opened by Craig Bundy and Chris Davies from CCCarpentry & Building Ltd of Totton, who are regular customers of Covers Southampton.
Craig said: “We’ve been using Covers for our supplies for many years so we were delighted to be invited to officially open its new depot on Empress Road. The premises look really impressive and we are looking forward to using all the facilities on offer.”
