A group of employees from Elliotts Builders Merchant have been awarded with Diplomas in Merchanting by the Builders Merchants Federation (BMF).
Portsmouth Branch Manager, Bobby Smith Jnr was awarded a Level 2 diploma. Totton Assistant Branch Manager, Dan Coombes and Chandler’s Ford Assistant Branch Manager, Ian Woodhouse were both awarded a Level 1.
“Doing this qualification has given me a better understanding of how the merchanting business runs as a whole,” said Bobby. “It allows me to run the Portsmouth branch more efficiently and effectively.”
The trio were awarded their diplomas after 2-and-a-half years of attending workshops and studying during evenings and weekends, but maintain that the effort was worthwhile.
Dan Coombes, Assistant Branch Manager at Totton, said, “It’s been good to action the things I learnt doing the diploma in an everyday working environment, especially around service and stock.”
