Drainfast has announced a major expansion of its delivery network into the north of England with the opening of a new depot in Doncaster, scheduled to go live from the start of February.
Founded in 2003, the specialist merchant has over 20 years’ experience supplying underground drainage and associated products to civils and groundworks contractors across the UK. The new Doncaster depot is said to represent an important next step in the firm’s continued growth and commitment to improving service levels for customers nationwide.
Once operational, it will enable faster and more reliable delivery across the north including reduced lead times for live construction sites, strong local stock availability and greater delivery certainty, backed by its own fleet.
Managing Director Trevor James commented: “Drainfast has grown by doing the basics exceptionally well. Reliable stock, next-day delivery you can trust, and a team that puts customers first every time. Opening a fourth depot in Doncaster is a natural next step for us as we build on our strong base of long-standing customers in London, the South East and the Midlands.”
“We chose Doncaster very deliberately. Its proximity to the A1 and M62 gives us excellent access across Yorkshire and Lancashire (and) this strategically located depot will significantly extend our reach across the North of England, allowing us to better support civils and groundworks contractors throughout Yorkshire and Lancashire, including major construction hubs such as Doncaster, Sheffield, Leeds, Hull, York, Bradford, Manchester, Liverpool and Preston.”
Customers in these regions will “benefit from the same service Drainfast is known for elsewhere in the UK,” including next-day delivery on orders placed by 5pm. Area Sales Manager Luke Siderfin said: “Contractors don’t want excuses; they want deliveries that turn up on time and in full. Our order-by-5pm, next-day delivery promise is still genuinely market-leading, and bringing that level of service to Yorkshire and Lancashire is incredibly exciting.
“Although the Doncaster depot is new, the Drainfast way of working isn’t. We’re a specialist plastic drainage merchant, we know our products inside out, and we understand the pressures of live sites. The goal is simple: make life easier for customers and become a trusted long-term partner in the region.”
Luke added: “We are trusted by leading construction businesses for our straightforward approach, dependable delivery performance and strong stockholding. This expansion allows us to bring those same service standards closer to contractors working across Yorkshire and Lancashire, supported by a local depot and an experienced team who understand the pressures of tight programmes and changing site requirements.”
The final words go to MD Trevor James: “This new location will enhance our ability to support both existing customers and new partners across the North, providing a reliable supply solution tailored to fast-moving construction environments.
“This expansion is an investment in the future. As construction activity continues to strengthen in the North of England, we want to be there, ready to support contractors with the speed, certainty and service that sets Drainfast apart.”
