Dulux Decorator Centre rolls out new store format

Dulux Decorator Centre has launched a new store format to “offer greater speed, convenience, and flexibility for busy customers.”

Placing a strong focus on (online) pre-order and collection services, the new layout is designed to enable decorators to get their hands on the products they need quickly and efficiently, maximising the time they can spend on site. Currently, four stores feature the new format, with brand new locations in Balham and Stevenage in addition to two, refitted existing sites in Reigate and Brighton Freshfields.

Designed to support a “more agile and accessible customer experience, by customers ordering online for a click and collect service or arrange a delivery straight to site,” an expert team will be also be on hand to support customers in each location – and decorators can additionally use in-store digital screens to browse the range and find out more about the products on offer.

Each store will include:

A trade counter-style layout, with no traditional shopfloor

A carefully thought out range of essential products

Digital browsing terminals for key product and service information

Internal collection lockers to support seamless pick-up

Dulux Decorator Centre has launched a new store format to “offer greater speed, convenience, and flexibility for busy customers.”

DDC Managing Director Sarah Atkins said: “We understand that decorator needs are constantly evolving. In times like these, they need a partner they can rely on for speed, reliability and ease. Our new store format is about providing faster, more flexible access to products, particularly in town centre locations where accessibility and on-site parking are more limited.

“By offering the same tailored service with added convenience, we’re helping our customers spend less time picking up supplies, and more time doing what they do best.”

Marking a milestone anniversary this year, the company says that it was the philosophy of its forebear JP McDougall 130 years ago to ensure that the business was centred around people, and this “is still the foundation of Dulux Decorator Centre today and in the future.” Customer feedback plays a key role in shaping DDC’s network of 230+ stores nationwide and “ensuring it remains aligned with customer needs to help decorating businesses thrive.”
