Robert Price Builders’ Merchants has announced the acquisition of Philip Jones Timber Products, further strengthening its presence across South Wales.
Founded in 2003, Philip Jones Timber Products is described as a well‑trusted supplier of high-quality timber and bespoke products throughout Blaenau Gwent and the wider South Wales region. The business will continue operating from its sawmill and yard in Rassau, Ebbw Vale, ensuring continuity for customers as it is integrated into the Robert Price Group.
Robert Price currently operates 32 sites across South Wales and Herefordshire, including 21 traditional merchant yards alongside a range of specialist branches. These include roofing centres, timber specialists, kitchen and bathroom showrooms, a Sustainable Energy Centre, an insulation division, and an agricultural supplies branch. The Group operates under the Robert Price, Tudors, and Gower Timber brands.
William Godfrey, MD of Robert Price, said: “We are delighted to welcome Philip Jones Timber Products into the Robert Price Group. As a fellow family-run business, we have many shared values, and we look forward to building on Philip Jones’ excellent reputation for quality and reliability with their loyal customer base.”
This acquisition marks a further step in Robert Price’s growth strategy, for example following on from its acquisition of the Pontardawe-based Lliw Building Supplies in April, reinforcing its commitment to delivering high-quality building materials and excellent service to customers across South Wales and Herefordshire.
