Grange Fencing has invested in a brand new distribution site at Harwich, creating over 30 jobs for the local area.
The site in the South East comes as the result of a significant investment from Grange Fencing’s Polish parent company, Stelmet, with the location being favoured for its excellent supply links to Stelmet’s recently opened £30m manufacturing facility in Grudziadz, Poland.
Commenting on the new distribution site, Managing Director of Grange, Neil Taylor said: “The site at Harwich will enable us to improve distribution across the board, creating a number of operational efficiencies for the company as a whole. The fantastic positioning of the Harwich site in relation to the manufacturing base in Grudziadz will help to shorten lead times and will enable Grange to create a stronger distribution network, working in tandem with our Telford headquarters. This increase in our supply chain efficiency is central to the company’s ability to deliver growth across all aspects of the business, from product development to improved customer service.”
Covering nine acres, it is expected that over 2.5m Grange products will be distributed across the UK from the Harwich base during its first year of operation.
