Staff at Häfele UK have raised £29,520 for Macmillan Cancer Support as part of an ongoing fundraising drive, with the company aiming to donate a total of £50,000 to the charity.
The money was raised over the course of the previous year, with employees at every level taking part in a variety of activities to raise money for the cause.
Fundraising initiatives included quizzes, raffles, cake sales and various sporting events, with several members of the company even taking part in the Great North Run and London Marathon to raise money.
The company’s fundraising drive is said to be continuing this year, with numerous events including quizzes and a race night planned for the coming months.
Macmillan Cancer Support provides practical, medical, emotional and financial support for those affected by the disease.
Diane Rowicki, Chairperson of the Häfele Charity Committee, commented: “We are absolutely delighted with the amount raised so far and look forward to reaching our £50,000 target. It wouldn’t have been possible to raise so much money without the tireless support of our staff who have really excelled themselves, dedicating so much of their time and energy to all of the fundraising efforts.
“Häfele has a big heart when it comes to charity. Since we started the Häfele Charity Fundraising Committee in 1980 we have raised in excess of £150,000 for various national and local charities.”
