Integrated Solutions at City Plumbing has been awarded the contract to supply plumbing and heating materials to Selwood Housing.
The contract, worth over £2m per annum and awarded via the Fusion21 framework, will see the specialist public sector plumbing and heating division provide a “robust, innovative and localised service” to the not-for-profit housing association that owns and manages almost 7,000 homes in the southwest of England.
With Integrated Solutions selected by Selwood Housing for its approach to stock management and availability, ensuring the housing provider can provide a fast, first-time fix for its residents, the contract will be primarily served by City Plumbing’s Trowbridge branch. Engineers will also be able to call on seven supporting branches in the local area as required.
To ensure continuity of Selwood Housing’s core range and van stock materials, the merchant has created an automated replenishment programme that taps into its Primary Distribution Hub of 13,000 stocked plumbing and heating product lines delivered daily across the UK. Furthermore, the housing association will also be served by City Plumbing’s Spares Distribution Hub, which stocks 20,000 gas spares product lines and provides an overnight delivery service to a drop box by 7am on orders placed before 5pm in branch and 7pm via the hub’s dedicated spares call centre.
Richard Adams, Sales Director at Integrated Solutions at City Plumbing, commented: “The Social Housing Regulation Act has set clear response times for hazards – and for emergency repairs like boilers in particular – meaning housing providers like Selwood Housing need a trusted supply chain partner that can provide what they and their residents need when they need it. To this end, mobilisation and stock management formed a huge part of this contract, and we’re proud to have an industry-leading infrastructure that can make this a reality.
“These logistics, combined with our team’s extensive sector experience and absolute prioritisation of residents, make us the perfect partner for Selwood Housing.”
A spokesperson from Selwood Housing added: “We are delighted to be partnering with City Plumbing, who have shown themselves to be both reliable and agile. This new contract will allow us to implement more efficient systems and processes, monitor performance and ultimately offer value for money services to our customers.”
Alongside its strong track record of working with housing associations on material delivery, Integrated Solutions takes a resident-focused approach to how it operates and is a partner of Stop Social Housing Stigma, a tenant-led campaign to challenge negative perceptions of social housing residents.
