On Thursday 19th September, Jayson Richards, Branch Manager of Plumbing Trade Supplies (PTS) Leeds, part of the Plumbing and Heating Division of Travis Perkins, scooped the Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) Young Achiever of The Year award at the prestigious 2019 BMF Annual awards, held at the Hilton Hotel, St George’s Park National Football Centre.
The award celebrated Young Achievers, under the age of 35, who have demonstrated their positive impact on the results of the business, shown the significant achievements have they completed throughout their career and shared their passion for customer experience. Jayson beat competition from Young Achievers from across the UK.
Jayson stated: “This has been a great experience for me and I’m delighted to have won this award. I am dedicated to leading the team at PTS Leeds and now helping the Plumbers of Leeds and Yorkshire, to get the best service, best products and the expertise they need.”
Jayson started his career in the Plumbing and Heating division of Travis Perkins, aged 20, as a Supervisor in the local Barrow PTS branch and successfully drove the results so much so he was quickly offered Branch Manager at the City Plumbing branch in Morecambe. Now at the age of 26 Jayson is managing the PTS branch in Leeds — which is one of the largest in the UK, while undertaking a supported Chartered Management degree in Business. Jayson credits his success to the support, development and mentorship he has received during his 6 year career at City Plumbing and PTS and would highly recommend the merchant business to all.
