Klipboard appoints new Enterprise Director, as business also marks 50th anniversary

As more distributors look to improve operational efficiency and reduce reliance on disconnected systems, Klipboard has appointed Alex Cambell as Enterprise Director to “help businesses streamline complex processes, improve visibility and get more value from stock by connecting business systems.”

The appointment comes as Klipboard celebrates 50 years serving the industry and follows the publication of its recent benchmark research, which found that 40% of distributors “still operate across multiple standalone systems or rely on manual processes and spreadsheets rather than a single integrated ERP platform.”

Those findings are said to reflect the conversations Alex is already having with businesses looking to simplify operations, reduce manual work and overcome the limitations of disconnected systems.

Alex’s track record is described as being in “helping transform businesses and identify opportunities to improve how they operate by bringing together the systems and processes they rely on every day.” This includes using AI to reduce repetitive administrative work, utilising branded e-commerce to increase sales, and integrated payments to simplify payment collection, helping teams spend less time on processes and more time supporting customers.

On his new appointment, Alex said: “Many of the conversations I’m already having are about giving businesses better visibility, removing unnecessary manual work and helping teams make better decisions because they can see what’s happening across the business. There is a huge opportunity for distributors to simplify how they operate by bringing together the systems they rely on every day. My role is to help distributors understand where they can remove complexity, improve how those systems work together, and learn from what other successful businesses are doing.”

James Mitchell, CEO UK&I at Klipboard, added: “Distributors are under increasing pressure to do more with the resources they already have. That means removing inefficiencies, giving people better access to information and making day-to-day operations easier to manage. This is why simplifying processes across a distribution business is so important. Klipboard’s solutions are critical to many distributors to ensure their day-to-day runs effectively.

“We’re incredibly pleased to have Alex onboard. He’s spent years helping enterprise businesses improve the way they operate and understands the challenges distributors face. Alex will work closely with businesses to share practical ideas and support their digital transformation.”

Marking 50 years of supporting distributors and as one of the UK’s longest-standing technology partners to the sector, “Klipboard (formerly known as Kerridge Commercial Systems, prior to its rebranding last year) states that it continues to help businesses bring together purchasing, stock, sales, finance, payments and customer service, reducing manual work, improving control and supporting better commercial decisions.”
