LBS Builders Merchants has confirmed that the business is now under the stewardship of two new Managing Directors, Ben and Rachel Davies.
A recent statement on the independent merchant’s LinkedIn page announced the promotion of Ben and Rachel, and noted: “Yesterday Mark Davies handed the reigns over and stepped up to his position of company Chairman after being the third generation MD of almost 40 years. Still a family-run business after 90 years, the company remains the largest independent merchant in South Wales. With 480 staff strong, 48 branches and counting, Mark has built this reputable business up to the well-established position it’s in today.
“We wish Mark the very best in his new role as Chairman and hope he can start to unwind, relax and play a round of golf or two. We also wish Ben and Rachel the best of luck in their new roles running the company, from us all at team LBS.”
Founded in 1931, LBS has 18 merchant branches, 12 Total Plumbing Centres, 12 Kitchen & Bathroom showrooms, a specialist Civils business, a dedicated Roofing merchant, a Home & Garden Centre and Talbot Timber: a timber and roof truss manufacturer and supplier, spanning the whole of South Wales. We employ more than 450 local, expert staff.
The multiple award-winning business has a fleet of over 80 vehicles to provide next day or often same day delivery, and supplies materials across many sectors including self-builds, large contractors, developers, plumbers, roofers, local authorities and to the general public.
