CBA aims to expand merchant membership base

The Combined Buying Association (CBA) has undertaken a strategic review and, to achieve more national coverage, has declared that it is open to new members.

The CBA reports that it is the “longest standing Building Material purchasing consortium”, and its members are a “group of independent minded” builders’ merchants. Currently, membership is predominantly made up of a small number of significant regional independent merchants, however the CBA wishes to grow its membership to provide greater coverage.

With an ethos “based on a mutual respect of each other”, the CBA also notes that “unlike other buying groups, there is no costly management fee or restrictive rules”. It adds: “The CBA trades with the major industry suppliers and believes firmly that the benefits attained by collective buying should all revert to the membership”.

Any interested parties and potential new members should contact Will Godfrey, Managing Director of Robert Price Builders Merchants, via email: wagodfrey@robert-price.co.uk to discuss membership opportunities further.

Following the strategic review, it has also been confirmed that A.W.Lumb will be leaving membership at the end of 2022. The CBA commented: “Whilst sad to see them leave, the CBA recognise that A.W. Lumb have a different trading style to other members and wish them well in the future.”
