MKM has officially cut the ribbon on its new branch in Burton upon Trent with the help of Burton Albion legend Nigel Clough.
Burton Albion club Chairman, Ben Robinson, also attended the event which included a raffle giving away matchday hospitality tickets.
The new branch is the company’s 61st nationally, creating 14 jobs in the Staffordshire town which is also the hometown of one of MKM’s founder members, Linda Clarke.
Linda, who is currently Digital and Marketing Director, commented: “I’ve been part of MKM since 1995, and having been born and bred in Burton, I’m so proud to be back for the opening of our 61st branch. We have a great team here in Burton – they have all worked so hard to make tonight happen. MKM has always been about the customer and the relationships we create; without them, MKM wouldn’t exist.”
Heading up MKM Burton is an experienced duo of Branch Directors, Mark Palmer and David Jenkins. In addition to the 14 new job roles, there is also a new vehicle fleet operating in Burton and the surrounding area, clad in MKM’s yellow-and-blue branding.
MKM Burton welcomes trade and retail customers, with a portfolio of products including building materials, roofing, joinery, timber supplies, and kitchens and bathrooms with free local delivery.
Mark said: “It was fantastic to have Nigel in to cut the ribbon on our branch. We’ve spent the past few months putting together a fantastic team of handpicked, local people; our ethos is skilled, local staff who exactly understand and appreciate the needs of those they’ll be serving. Whether from the trades or a DIY customer, we can only encourage people in Burton and nearby area to give us a try for their next project!”
David added: “When it comes to builders’ merchants, there’s no doubt that the consumer has a lot of choice. As such, we’ll be placing a huge focus on the customer experience, always going the extra mile to provide MKM’s renowned service, a fantastic product range and great prices. Our team can’t wait to get to work forging those long-lasting relationships with everyone who walks through the door at MKM Burton.”
